Rogoznica lies in in a deep bay sheltered from wind, about 30km south from Sibenik, Croatia. The part of Rogoznica that lies on the mainland was populated already in 1390. In 1518 the inhabitants fled in front of the Turkish army to safety of the nearby islet. In the Lozice bay, in the old village, a church of St.Nicholas was built. The parish church built in 1615 was restored and completed in the 19 th CT. In the past the inhabitants of Rogoznica dealt mainly with fishing and agriculture and they still don’t forget the traditional jobs in spite of today’s touristy orientation. This beautiful fishing village has a naturally protected harbor and the sea is very deep which enables all kinds of yachts to find safe berth there. Thick pine forest, long coastal path, pretty little beaches, islets and bays and the Dragon’s eye lake, attract many tourists besides the yachters. Fresh fish is everyday available in the restaurants with the sea food and among numerous local gastronomic specialties, the best is fish soup. Private accommodation (apartments) is offered in family houses. In 1996 a modern artificial island-marina was built which gives additional appeal to this place because in this way Rogoznica becomes also a destination for those whose requirements are more particular. You can be sure that the mild Mediterranean climate will suit you even in spring and autumn.
